Through over 25 years of experience in the field of architecture, Scott understands that communication throughout a project is key. Whether there is good news or bad news to be delivered (and there will invariably be some of both on every project), Scott helps guide the process and facilitates open and honest communication along all project stakeholders. Scott is a go-to resource for clients and internal team members alike. Besides work on his own projects, Scott consults with other project teams on matters regarding financing, bidding, contracts, and other regulatory or process questions. Scott's primary role is overseeing the business operations of the firm. From planning and forecasting, to scheduling and staffing, to business development to the daily running of the firm, Scott keeps his finger on the pulse of the firm's operations at any given point in time, while simultaneously looking towards forecasting for the future. This role has Scott not only practicing architecture, but also touching the related (but necessary) legal, contractual, accounting, and marketing sides of the business. After hours, Scott keeps busy serving on the committees of, and as the recording secretary of, his three teenagers' Scouts troop, as well as their high school's Band Parents Association. Scott also moonlights as the Operations Manager for Shore Thing Theater, a non-profit organization that he has been involved with since its inception.

Tammy has not taken a straight-line path through her career.  With degrees in interior design and construction management, and work experience in everything from capital improvements to new construction to corporate moves, Tammy has just about seen it all.  She draws on her varied background to adeptly balance all aspects of project management. Most recently, Tammy has received her certification from NJ Department of Education and Rutgers for Educational Facilities Management. Tammy is well-known for her ability to keep projects moving forward.  She can quickly earn the respect of clients, contractors, and building officials.  Her pragmatic outlook and focus allows her to deal with complex situations, distill them to a series of action items, and follow each through to its conclusion. Tammy keeps equally busy with a variety of projects and activities. She served almost 15 years on her hometown’s Recreation Commission, holding the chair position for several years, and coached recreation soccer. Tammy started and continues to run the Somerville Santa volunteer effort.

Marcus truly enjoys the art of architecture.  He possesses a design sense that is driven in equal parts by beauty and practicality.  Marcus is just as at home on the construction site as he is in the office with pen, marker, and trace paper; he is a skilled hand-drafter and still maintains an excellent hand-sketching ability even in this age of computers. Working directly with the design staff, Marcus is a go-to resource in the office for all types of technical questions, whether material-related, code, phasing, sequencing, or any of a number of different related topics.  Marcus heads up the firm’s QC efforts and assists our design teams and Project Managers as another set of eyes.  Not content to do something simply out of routine, he is never afraid to question the status quo and is always looking for a better way to do things. Marcus comes to SSP from Indiana, by way of Massachusetts.  Perhaps this Yankee fan didn’t fit in with his White Sox or Red Sox neighbors, but he and his family have called central New Jersey their home since the late 1990s.  Though not a baseball player himself, he is a huge fan of the game.  He enjoys trips to Yankee Stadium and, befitting his aptitude as a mentor, has served as a coach for his sons’ teams.

Jeanne’s expertise lies in facility master planning, where she excels at not only solving what are sometimes disparate architectural and programmatic challenges, but also at facilitating the process.  Jeanne shines when working with large groups of diverse individuals, helping lead the process to develop a unified group consensus and ultimately an implementation plan of action.  Jeanne’s efforts in this area have led to national recognition as an Accredited Learning Environment Planner (ALEP), one of the first three individuals to achieve this designation in the state of New Jersey and one of only 194 worldwide. Jeanne applies her process to facilities projects of all types, ranging from small K-8 or K-12 school districts to multi-site college campuses to corporate build-outs.  Her ability to delve down into each project’s nuances, and understand the unique operations of each affected building or campus, is unparalleled. While Jeanne brings 35 years of formal experience to SSP, Jeanne’s exposure to the field predates her tenure with SSP.  Jeanne grew up in the business, having an architect for a father.  As a young child, Jeanne and her brother would tag along to their architect father’s construction sites (a practice no longer followed, of course). Jeanne is the proud mother of two sons, and in a reversal of the typical, she has followed in their footsteps by recently taking up rowing, a sport that her oldest son enjoyed in college.  Jeanne has always enjoyed the water, having been a swimmer since her college days, and has participated in rowing competitions throughout the northeast over the last several years.

Adam excels at leading the architectural and engineering team through all aspects of a project from initial schematics and budgeting through project completion. He prides himself on being highly adept at defining scope and budget, as well as coordinating the work of the internal design team, consultants, and regulatory officials. He has truly worked his way up the ladder at SSP, starting out as an intern while still enrolled at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Adam now oversees a multitude of projects for the firm, including long range facility planning, feasibility studies, and new construction and renovation projects. His architectural design management skills have benefited dozens of school districts and community colleges. Adam has found it fulfilling to put his diverse talents to work to renovate and build educational facilities, guide school districts on long range facility planning, and help create state-of-the-art public school media centers and music rooms. In the civic area, he has led the way in renovating facilities that serve the public, including court buildings, police headquarters, a borough hall, and a historic library. Always making family life a priority, Adam recently became a new dad. For Adam, the colder it is outside the better. He loves winter and is an avid skier and hockey player. He was a member of his college’s hockey team and continues to play weekly. And of course, where did he and his wife honeymoon? The Swiss Alps.

When it comes to building envelope design, Josh knows all the ins and particularly the outs. A senior member of the technical staff, he is a leading regional specialist in strengthening building envelopes with a focus on roofing and exterior wall design. He also excels in the areas of building envelope investigation and evaluation. Beyond the building envelope, Josh has extensive experience in all phases of architectural design, including planning, detailing, coordination with consulting engineers, and construction administration. During his 14-year career with SSP, public schools throughout the New Jersey-New York metropolitan region have benefitted from his insight and technical knowledge. In addition, he played a major role in SSP’s state-wide Facilities Assessment that was undertaken for the New Jersey Department of Transportation, examining the conditions at over 500 buildings and developing project lists and priorities. Josh has been fascinated by the built world since he was a child. Back then you could find him making roads and towns for his Hot Wheels in his backyard’s dirt patch. Or he was in his family room building forts, cars, or helicopters out of Legos. While in high school, he started drafting and putting his design ideas down on paper. He realized that he liked coming up with what should be built, more than just building what others created. When not at work, Josh likes to experience the built and natural world with his wife and daughter.

Roxann finds great satisfaction exploring sustainable solutions to design challenges. Whenever feasible, she provides clients with “greener” options to move their projects forward in the most environmentally friendly way possible. With over 20 years of experience, she has gained extensive knowledge in building codes, specification writing, construction detailing, consultant coordination, contractor negotiations, field supervision, and project completion requirements. Roxann strives to be completely involved in projects from beginning to end – working closely with the client, internal design team, and consultants, to consistently deliver timely and cost-efficient design solutions both before and during construction. Always seeking to be a team builder, Roxann brings a wonderful sense of organization and teamwork to everything she touches. This includes projects ranging from LEED certified schools, to retail stores, restaurants, and community centers. She was especially excited to lead the SSP team in developing a master plan for a school in Ecuador. Roxann prioritizes spending quality time with her family. Living in a rural area, she enjoys the great outdoors and taking in the beauty of nature.  Her attention to detail in almost everything allows her to come up with small projects at home -- from creating small gardens to interior decorating and design.  She finds it most relaxing when she is in her creative mindset.  Improvement, progression and creating beautiful spaces both indoors and outdoors goes well beyond work and is an integral part of her life.

Anthony thrives on new experiences and the learning that it entails. Whether it's finding a challenging mountain bike trail or routing around an old building to find a leak, Anthony loves the act of discovery and problem solving. He also enjoys spending time doing household tasks like building a desk and shelves or rebuilding plaster and lathe walls. While not trying to keep himself busy, he enjoys spending tie with his wife, three kids, and playing video games.

Jack loves taking on a good challenge for his clients. He enjoys digging deep to investigate complex building situation, developing technical solutions that work. He brings ideas and concepts to reality, while managing the relationships among the contractors, architects, and clients. As an experienced member of the SSP team, Jack mentors his colleagues to help them navigate the nuances of their projects, and is always willing to lend a hand to share his knowledge and experience. Jack strives to go above and beyond, giving 110% to anything that he does. After a busy day in the office or at site meetings, Jack unwinds by spending his free time outside. Whether he is hiking, snowboarding, or riding motocross, Jack loves to stay active, no matter what season it is. Just don't get into a debate about food with Jack; you won't win.

Jeremy has been in the architecture industry for over 25 years, over which time he has grown to love working through the intricacies of each project. No two projects are the same, keeping Jeremy on his toes every day; and he wouldn't have it any other way. He is motivated by the excitement that comes each time he walks into the office and gets to tackle a new challenge. Jeremy's clients know that they are in good hands with him. His wide knowledge of public, school, commercial, and historic design makes him an asset to the SSP team. Jeremy has developed a particular specialty for working on PreK-12 schools, having designed projects for dozens of school districts across the state of New Jersey. He lends his extensive background and attention to detail to all projects he works on, always building on his knowledge base with each new project he undertakes. When not working, you can probably find Jeremy spending time with his daughter or enjoying live music events. His love of music led Jeremy to accumulate a collection of over 15,000 CDs. He even still uses his vintage iPod classic!

As a Certified Educational Facilities Manager, Don brings with him over 35 years of experience in all aspects of school construction, from planning through completion and closeout. He brings unique end-user experience to designs ,aiming to identify and resolve potential issues before they lead to change orders. Throughout the process, Don collaborates with the design team, owner, and contractor so the project is completed on time and within budget. His extensive experience allows him to effectively address challenges and streamline the construction process for successful outcomes. When not in the office, Don can be found out at dinner with his wife and kids, or enjoying a quiet night at home with the dogs!

At the heart of everything Nathan does is this simple belief: success starts with strong relationships. As a Business Development professional, Nathan's focus is on connecting people, uncovering opportunities, and helping clients move confidently toward their vision. At SSP, Nathan focuses on creating opportunities, building lasting client relationships, and delivering solutions that support long-term success. Known for his integrity, energy, and collaborative mindset, Nathan is dedicated to helping clients realize their vision. As much as he loves to be out connecting, his family is the real motivator. Nathan loves spending time with his family, whether it's taking the kids to ballet or karate, trips to Cape May and Disney, or a night out in Somerville with his wife.
