  • SSP Architects Principal Marcus Rosenau Joins Somerset County Business Partnership Board

First Architect to Serve as Co-Chair of SCBP Employer Legislative Committee

Somerville, NJ – In accepting his appointment to the Board of Trustees of the Somerset County Business Partnership (SCBP), Marcus Rosenau, Principal of SSP Architects headquartered in Somerville, NJ, said, “I am honored to be among the 36 SCBP Board members working with new Chair, Martinez Milan, and SCBP Officers to further strengthen this 105-year-old organization that now exceeds over 800 members. It’s great to see the membership numbers now exceeding where they were before the pandemic.”

Rosenau said he is looking forward to continuing his term as the Co-Chair of the SCBP Employer Legislative Committee (ELC). “Working with my fellow ELC Co-Chair Crystal Pruitt, we are planning more meetings in 2024 that will enable local employers to meet with legislators, network with colleagues, and learn more about issues affecting businesses in our region,” said Rosenau, who is the first architect appointed to this role.

He added, “It will be exciting for me to work with the SCBP leadership to further enhance the Partnership’s connections among the County’s public and private partners, SCBP members, and the business community that will enable all of us to collaborate to build a prosperous and sustainable future.”

Now in his 28th year with SSP Architects, Rosenau said, “It’s great to deepen my involvement with SCBP. I’ve always been attracted to its extremely welcoming networking culture and its values that align with SSP’s commitment to community building.”

Rosenau said he views his volunteer work for the Partnership as an extension of his architectural design initiatives to help employers create more comfortable, inclusive working spaces for employees that will boost their creativity and productivity.

Rosenau and his firm are now working with the SCBP to help them move to new offices at 50 Division Street in the heart of Somerville’s downtown area. This will be a more accessible site than SCBP’s current headquarters on Route 22 – being near public transportation and within walking distance of a myriad of shops and restaurants.
