SSP Architects Principal Tammy Stouchko Named a 2023 NJBIZ Best 50 Women in Business Honoree
New Jersey – Tammy Stouchko, Principal of SSP Architects, has been named a 2023 NJBIZ Best 50 Women in Business honoree. Drawn from hundreds of nominations, Tammy and the other recipients are being recognized by NJBIZ as the 50 women who this past year have made the most significant impact on business in New Jersey and the community at large.
Now in her fourth year as a Principal of SSP Architects, Tammy has not taken a straight-line path through her career. With degrees in interior design and construction management, and work experience in everything from capital improvements to new construction to corporate moves, she draws on her varied background to adeptly balance all aspects of project management for New Jersey’s oldest architecture firm.
Most recently, Tammy earned her certification from the New Jersey Department of Education and Rutgers for Educational Facilities Management. She serves as a member of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ Electronic Plan Review Task Force – providing valuable end-user insight to the Department as they transitioned to a new method of receiving and reviewing construction plans for statewide code compliance.
Tammy has earned the respect of clients, contractors, and building officials during her 18-year career at SSP Architects with her well-known ability to keep projects moving forward. Along with mentoring her production and support staff, Tammy takes extra time to provide guidance to younger women just starting out in their careers – sharing with them her insights into what it means to be a female succeeding in a male dominated profession.
Her extensive community volunteer work includes founding and running Somerville’s Secret Santa volunteer effort over the past 20 years. She has coached recreation soccer and chaired her hometown’s Recreation Commission.
