Roebling Park Nature Interpretive Center SSP is currently designing an environmental education center, via the adaptive reuse of an existing residential facility at Roebling Park in Hamilton.
To be developed from an existing residential structure on a 1.3 acre land tract immediately proximate to Roebling Memorial Park, the Center’s successful development will hinge on not only its adaptive reuse design, but also the ability of its team in garnering community input from its various local constituent groups, and to work efficiently in the Park Commission organization.
To date, activities have included the team’s analysis of the existing facility and the potential of it and its systems to support future use objectives; the identification of target constituents throughout Mercer County who will contribute to the Center’s educational program; meetings to determine the educational program objectives and how they translate into space design; and the identification of guidelines for integration of the renovated facility and its surroundings into the existing fabric of Roebling Park. |
