SSP designed a new facility that incorporates the building itself into the therapeutic processing of its patients. The center includes a therapy kitchen, caregiver research center, and a therapy garden. A primary component of the Adult Day Center facility is the transitional relationship from the indoors to the outdoor environment to facilitate ease of transition for seniors, and provide the best possible environment, for their daily care.

Sustainable design elements include ventilation systems to control indoor air quality, filtered natural daylighting, the use of recycled materials throughout the building, and energy conservation to control operating costs.
