Somerset County Park Commission The existing Somerset County Park Commission Headquarters Building was a converted farm house turned into office space for the Park Commission. As the Commission expanded, so did their needs. The new building totals 16,000 s.f. of office space. Several departments once housed in many locations around the County are now quartered in one central location.
The expanded Headquarters is set within North Branch County Park and is spectacular in its natural setting. Emulating a ski chalet, the facility makes use of natural woods in its exterior and interior, creating a welcoming and warm space for vital County Park Commission functions.
The main central meeting room where the Park Commission meets in executive sessions and public meetings now has space for 70 people.
The Therapeutic Wing provides therapeutic recreation for the County’s special needs children and adult population. The Therapeutic Wing has 4,000 s.f. of new space, including four classrooms, a training kitchen and a special art classroom. This wing also includes the County Multipurpose Room for other County functions. |
